Who doesn’t want the bathroom of a Hollywood starlet?! But - we know that although diamonds are a girl’s best friend.. they’re not cheap.
My client was quoted $20K for this project by another designer. That’s a lot of money - and frankly, doesn’t fit into most peoples’ budgets. Plus - for a condo like this, you have to consider resale value and putting $20k into a bathroom is not something you’re probably going to get back when selling a property like this.
So - we landed on a budget of $5k for this bathroom, including the design fee, all the purchases, and the contractor’s work. And I’m happy to say that we achieved that!
Take a look at the before.
A little gray, and a LOT uninspired. Everything was builder grade and blah.
We agreed on a design that gave us a nice facelift, but wouldn’t break the bank.
It would incorporate a new vanity top/sink, faucet, mirror, light fixture, towel holders, shower curtain rod, shower curtain, flush mount lighting fixture, new vanity knobs, towels, accent rugs, and paint; including painting the vanity, a feature wall, and brightening up the other walls with a lighter shade.
It was quite a lot to fit in! But to conserve the budget, we decided to keep the existing vanity and flooring. A lot of times, the flooring may not continue under your vanity, island, etc, so if you tear up one piece, you may be swiping your credit card for much more!
Here are the after photos.
A huge transformation! And the flush mount light is so stunning.
